Always charming Christina Applegate shared her recent health struggle, explaining she was admitted to the hospital with severe kidney infection that started with one of her kidneys but then spread to the other one too.<\/p>\n

Applegate, who also has multiple sclerosis, said in an episode of her\u201cMeSsy\u201d podcast, \u201cI\u2019m holding in (a) bag o\u2019 tears right now. Just (a) bag o\u2019 tears. I sometimes fall into the nurse\u2019s arms like a freako, just crying.\u201d<\/p>\n

She recorded it while still at the hospital but has since been released.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in the hospital for seven days,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m home now, getting treated for the kidney infection, but my stomach issues are still a mystery we\u2019re trying to solve.\u201d<\/p>\n

She first felt that something was off during a trip to Europe while visiting family. Once she returned, she went straight to the hospital, not wanting to take any chances.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really afraid to go back home and get to the point where I was so bad that like at three in the morning, my poor friend has to drive me, and it\u2019s a Saturday night and it\u2019s going to be horrible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I was like, \u2018I\u2019m going to go and I\u2019m not leaving there until I have some f***ing answers!\u2019 Like, I\u2019m done. Think outside the box. Don\u2019t just leave me there, give me meds, and say, \u2018You feel better now. You\u2019re going home.\u2019 I want to know why this is happening, and I want it to stop so that I don\u2019t have to keep coming here.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was only after she started experiencing excruciating pain that an emergency CT scan revealed she had a kidney infection.<\/h2>\n

\u201cI\u2019m here because of this kidney infection, and I have to have intravenous antibiotics right now,\u201d she said on her podcast. \u201cThat\u2019s where we\u2019re at. Now they\u2019re thinking it could be something else, and I don\u2019t want to say what they think because I don\u2019t want it to sound scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Dead to Me\u00a0<\/em>star was\u00a0diagnosed with MS\u00a0in 2021 and she has been open about her health ever since. She hosts the \u201cMeSsy\u201d podcast with fellow actress\u00a0Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0NHS<\/em>, Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and\/or spinal cord. It may lead to symptoms such as difficulties with vision, movement of the arms or legs, sensation, or keeping balance.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a lifelong condition that can sometimes cause serious disability.\u00a0Currently, there is no cure but the symptoms may be managed with treatment.<\/p>\n
