ROAD RAGE TO “NAP TIME”: Alabama Father Disarms Woman Who Pulled Gun on Him and His Son in Atlanta
Atlanta, GA — What began as a typical case of road rage quickly escalated into a shocking confrontation on an Atlanta street, ending with a dramatic takedown that has people comparing the incident to a WWE match.
According to multiple reports, an Alabama father, Brandon Parker, was driving on I‑20 through Atlanta on September 11th with his 14-year-old son in the vehicle when he claims his car was rear-ended by a woman. Rather than stopping, the woman reportedly sped off.
Parker says he followed her off the highway, intending only to get her license plate number so he could report the hit-and-run to authorities. However, what happened next took a dangerous turn.
“I pulled up behind her, and as my son was getting the plate number, she jumped out with a gun,” Parker told local reporters. “I told my son to run.”
Surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts suggest that during the confrontation, the woman pointed the firearm at both Parker and his son. At one point, a shot was fired — fortunately, no one was injured.

That’s when Parker, a former football coach and Marine veteran, says his instincts kicked in. “She had the gun pointed at me, and I knew I had to protect my kid,” he said.
In what can only be described as a real-life wrestling moment, Parker says he performed a “hip toss” on the woman, disarming her and slamming her to the pavement. He claimed she briefly lost consciousness.
“I didn’t want to hurt her, I just wanted the gun out of her hands,” he explained. “Once I got it, I made sure my son was safe and called the police.”
By the time authorities arrived, the woman had fled the scene. As of now, the Atlanta Police Department has not released her identity, but the investigation is ongoing.
Hero or Vigilante?
While many online have praised Parker as a hero — especially for protecting his son without using deadly force — others have raised questions about following a hit-and-run suspect instead of calling 911 immediately.
Legal experts note that although citizens are not encouraged to pursue suspects, Parker’s actions in self-defense may be justified under Georgia’s stand-your-ground laws.
Social Media Goes Wild
The incident has since gone viral, with video clips circulating online and social media users dubbing the incident: “Road Rage to Nap Time” — a reference to the suspect being “put to sleep” by Parker’s takedown.
Memes and jokes about a “WWE smackdown in the streets of Atlanta” have further fueled interest in the story, but Parker has kept a humble tone.
“I didn’t do this to be famous. I just did what any father would do,” he said. “You point a gun at my kid — I’m going to protect him.”
Police Statement
Atlanta Police confirmed they responded to the incident and recovered a firearm at the scene. Investigators are reviewing the footage and continue searching for the suspect.
